Family

Hi everyone. I haven't posted for the past 2 days because I have even gotten out of my jammies. I've been sewing and putting the apartment in order.

For now I am putting the focus on someone else. Meet Theresa.  She is a real sport and does some modeling for me when she gets the chance. In this picture she is wearing a vest I made by sewing all kinds of doilies together by hand. My friend Kerry is now the proud owner.

And there is my #1 son Patrick, looking buff in 90 degree heat walking around with the family at The Oregon Garden. Once in a while he will say things that make my heart really happy like " My mom can make a business out of thin air". It makes me think, ok, I must of done something right raising this kid.

Yesterday was my granddaughters birthday. She is now 4. I get to see her and her brother Jonathan, and her mommy Nichole tomorrow. Oh happy day!!! It was Jonathan's birthday on the 18th. Family, gotta love them.

Till next time...

On a Tuesday

Today's outfit was a breeze. My thrifted pull on black boots, badly in need of new heels. The skirt is one of my tie dye poem tee skirts from Love Flow Creations. The blouse is a resent thrift find. And last, but not least, if you look closely enough you can see my red floral purse, that I get tons of compliments on. It was purchased at a local antique store for a song.

We stopped by Modern Domestic for help with my serger, yet again. The nice lady there made it all better. Now I can serge properly again.

The pictures where taken in front of a church in N Portland.

We then went to our friend's house to pick up some more of our things and our cat that we found a new home for. Recess went to go live with Sara and her son in Vancouver.

Then off to the studio to pickup a dress that a customer on Etsy is interested in and a few things to use as bases for upcycled wedding dresses for the Stumptown Sweethearts Bridal Fair, coming up May 10th. I need to get my creative juices flowing as to that regard.

Till next time....

Here I am sitting at my antique massage table sewing away. I am wearing one of my Love Flow Creation dresses. This one is 2 different brown tee shirt fabrics, with vintage lace on the skirt and around the neck a sewn on scarf made from part of a men's sweater, vintage laces and buttons.

The outfit was my new favorite black tee shirt that says "Paris France" on it, which was thrifted. The skirt I'm wearing is a Love Flow Creation skirt made from an 'ol grey sweatshirt and some fabric from a pair of beer jammies. I wore the skirt over some grey yoga pants and my short healed boots.

Till tomorrow.

A day in Salem

I know that the pictures inside the Clockwork Cafe are really dark. I couldn't do any better with my camera.

Yesterday I headed to Salem to visit mom and see some belly dancing. We wondered around downtown a bit. We stopped in to the French Unicorn to check out all their lovely french things. We tried bread samples at Great Harvest and got ourselves a cinnamon roll. Yummy!!

We checked out a store named This and That. They have tons of cowboy boot and other western wear, and tons of hats. Got compliments on the ensemble I was wearing, enough to hand out business cards to the store clerk and a customer. The shop keeper hadn't heard of Etsy or Steampunk so we educated her.  I picked up a set of dominoes at an antique store. By this point my feet were killing me so we went inside Clockwork's and played some dominoes and I totally dominated, surprising considering I had never played before.

The belly dancing was beyond awesome. A couple of the dancers told us there there is normally 200 peeps there to watch the show. Apparently last night was a small attendance comparatively. Unfortunately, my camera was no good at getting pictures of them.

As for my outfit yesterday. The jacket, skirt and bustle are all from Love Flow Creations. The necklace, socks, and boots were thrifted, and the earrings my ex made.

The mural is on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy just before where you turn to go to the VA hospital. The other picture is my dashboard buddies.

Till next time

Snow day

So the day started out early and snowy. #1 son invited me to have coffee with him at Starbucks at 6:30 this morning, He already knew I was up cuz we were Facebooking, He even bought my mocha. Such a good kid. After I dropped him off were he was going.   I, of course, got myself turned around and lost for awhile. Not really lost but trying to figure out what way was home. Or is that what lost means?. Anyway, it was all good, I took in the snowy sites. I stopped of at Commonwealth Lake and took a lap around the lake, Talking with my bud Daniel the whole time.

Once home we fixed ourselves some lunch and flopped on the bed to watch "Highlander". Good movie. Then it was time to get gussied up to go to Bushwhackers to meet the kids. We had the sampler plate and I took the line dancing lesson and nailed it. Now we're back home and here I am on the computer.

The jacket is a Love Flow Creation, as the the tee shirt skirt and the bustle. Shown with various thrifted or handmade jewelry and my cowboy boots. Please note energy orb on my skirt while dancing.  Till next time...

Gathering of many hats

Yup, up in the wee early morn again. This is stating to be a habit. I attended the Gathering of Many Hats last night at Ringo's bar. Great food, well priced, very smiley staff, and great customer service.

Yes, I know some of the pics are sideways. I photo is messing with me again.

Today I wore my Love Flow Creations denim overall dress, which was way not warm enough for how cold it was yesterday.

The hat is a French type beret I thrifted somewhere.

The sweater coat is one of my Love Flow Creations made with a men's sweater and a special type of lynx collar that I have been packing around for years. I believe it belonged to my late grandmother Julia. The "I'm a Pluncky Maiden" pin I made at the Punky Maiden Art Festival last summer. Their spring show is coming up in April.

The bustle was made by my friend Kerri from Sugar Babies out of Weed California.

Because of the impending snow we didn't attend the Steampunk gathering last night. Instead  I hit happy hour at on of my favorite places The Broadway Saloon here in Beaverton.

Till next time...

Be a pirate

Ok, so now that today's blog is in 3 parts cuz me and the Blogger program are having power struggles and it's kicking my behind.

This morning I went for a short walk. You can see the window where I sew, from the outside looking up. My view down my street to the theater and the MAX crossing. There's a picture of the Cedar Hills Goodwill. The red blouse I am wearing was purchased there this morning.

You have close-ups of my jewelry, boots, my pirate skirt, my hat, and me. The pirate skirt was purchased from Etsy. The patchwork over skirt is one of my Love Flow Creations. The rest of everything was thrifted or purchased at a craft fair. Then there is my lovely sweater with all the fancy bead work. She's as warm as my wool coat and was a steal for $9.99 at a local Goodwill.

My day was good. Got a walk in. Had lunch at Denny's. I am awaiting time to leave for our Steampunk gathering at Ringo's in Beaverton. This will be our first time in this location.

Until tomorrow take care of yourself. :-)
